After taking a dip in the river Krishna at the Durga ghat on the occasion of the Krishna Pushkaralu, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, while interacting with the media, said that he would soon interlink all major rivers in the State, including the Krishna and Godavari, to solve its water crisis.
Naidu said that the Godavari would be linked to the Krishna through the Pattiseema lift irrigation project.
He said that interlinking all rivers would potentially solve the drought crisis in AP.
Later, via a teleconference, the Chief Minister directed his officials to take all the possible safety precautions to protect the pilgrims from manmade catastrophes, such as the 2015 stampede, in the river ghats.
