After being closed for 13 hours due to the solar eclipse today, the famous hill shrine of Tirumala was reopened for darshan to pilgrims at 2 pm.
Following the usual practice, the temple doors were closed on Wednesday night at 11 pm and reopened on Thursday at 12 noon.
Additional EO A V Dharma Reddy was present during the re-opening of the temple doors.
After the Grahana Suddhi and other dhanurmasa rituals were performed, pilgrims were reallowed for darshan after 2 pm.
Pilgrims were allowed to enter the compartments of the Vaikuntham queue complex from 12 noon.
The anna prasadam activity commenced at the Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba Annaprasadam Complex (MTVAC) from 2:30 pm, and the milk distribution for children waiting in the compartments began at 1 pm itself.
The VIP break darshan including Protocol, Slotted Sarva Darshan (free darshan with time slot tokens) and Divya Darshan (footpath) were cancelled for today.
