As part of promoting Sanatana Dharma, the TTD is constructing a replica of the Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple at the prestigious Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.
A Kalyana Ratham, blessed by Srivaru, would depart from Tirumala at 7 am on January 8 for the mega religious event scheduled to run from January 13 to February 26, said TTD EO J Syamala Rao.
Addressing the media at Annamaiah Bhavan in Tirumala, the EO said that the model temple was being constructed on a 2.89-acre site at Sector 6, Bajrang Das Road, Prayagraj, adjacent to the famous Naga Vasuki temple.
He explained that Kainkaryams and Utsavas would be organized in the temple in the style that they were done in the Tirumala temple so that devotees from the North could experience the grandeur of Sri Venkateswara Swamy. All sevas, from Suprabhatam to Ekanta Seva, would also be conducted every day, and the TTD was organizing Srivari Kalyanams on January 18 and 26, and on February 3 and 12, he said.
For the Maha Kumbh Mela, the TTD has deputed a team of priests, Vedic scholars and staff from various departments to manage the temple activities and provide facilities for the large numbers of visiting devotees.
