Six New Judges Sworn In For Telangana High Court
With the six new judges assuming the charge, the total number of judges in the Telangana High Court has risen to 34, against a sanctioned strength of 42.
Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan on Tuesday administered the oath of office to six new judges for the Telangana High Court.
Advocates E V Venugopal, Nagesh Bheemapaka, Pulla Karthik and K Sharath, along with J Srinivas Rao and Namavarapu Rajeshwara Rao, were sworn in as judges of the High Court.
(Srinivas Rao and Rajeswara Rao have been appointed as additional judges for two years.)
With the six new judges assuming the charge, the total number of judges in the Telangana High Court has risen to 34.
At the time that Telangana was formed, the number of judges in the High Court was 24. Later, the union government increased the maximum number of judges to 42. Thus, even with these six new judges, eight positions for judges are still in vacant in the High Court.
