Justice Satish Chandra Sharma was sworn in as the Chief Justice of Telangana today.
He was administered the oath of office by the Governor of the state Tamilisai Soundararajan.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and TPCC president A Revanth Reddy attended the swearing-in ceremony.
Justice Sharma was working as the acting Chief Justice of Karnataka before his elevation as the Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court.
Justice Sharma succeeds Justice Hima Kohli, who was appointed as a Supreme Court judge on August 31. The senior-most judge of the Telangana High Court Justice M S Ramachandra Rao had been appointed as the acting Chief Justice of the state after the elevation of Justice Kohli. However, he too was transferred to the Punjab-Haryana High Court recently.
