SIT Capable Of Dealing Nayeemuddin Case: Jana Reddy

Telangana Congress Legislature Party leader K Jana Reddy today opined that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) was the best in the business, and could handle the Nayeemuddin encounter case quite well.

Contradicting the opinions of several Opposition parties including that of his own, Reddy said that a CBI inquiry should be demanded only if the SIT failed to solve the case.

"Some people gave information and anonymous tips about Nayeemuddin's whereabouts back when I was the Home Minister. But nobody came forward to give a written complaint. There was no proper way to verify the validity of the information provided, as the identities of the plaintiffs weren't known. Hence the police could not trace Nayeem," he said. "But now that Nayeem has passed away, people are coming out into the open and helping the SIT with its probe. The team is more than capable of uncovering the truth."
