The Pradesh Congress Committee, on Thursday, issued a show-cause notice to former minister T Jeevan Reddy, for his comments against Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and the state government.
Disciplinary Committee Chairman K Satyanarayana Raju sought an explanation from Jeevan Reddy over his controversial comments against the party and its leaders, by 24 June. He directed Jeevan Reddy to appear in person before the Disciplinary Committee and give his explanation.
Talking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan, Satyanarayana Raju said that the show-cause notice was served as Jeevan Reddy had allegedly indulged in anti-party campaigns supporting YSR Congress president Jaganmohan Reddy.
Raju warned other leaders of serious action if they speak against the government and the party, damaging its image.
Stating that the Congress High Command has been monitoring the anti-party statements being made by some leaders, he said that it would initiate serious action against them at an appropriate time.
Responding to a question on action against Health Minister D L Ravindra Reddy and former minister Dr. P Shankar Rao for speaking against the CM, Satyanarayana Raju said that he has not received any complaint against them so far.
"If the High Command receives a complaint, serious action will be taken against them," he stated. (INN)
