Telangana Bill Likely In Winter Session: Botsa
Botsa said that AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh had indicated that the Telangana Bill may be introduced in the Parliament during the winter session.
PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana on Tuesday said that the Telangana Bill is likely to be introduced in the Parliament during the winter session that begins from December 5.
Talking to reporters after participating in the birth anniversary celebrations of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi at Gandhi Bhavan here, Botsa said that AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh had indicated that the Telangana Bill may be introduced in the Parliament during the winter session.
Although Botsa did not elaborate on when the Bill was likely to be sent to the Legislative Assembly, he referred to his discussions with Digvijay Singh over the issue.
Indirectly criticising the ongoing Rachabanda programme, Botsa said, "Ideally the programme should have been conducted in villages, instead of in towns."
He said that the needs of the rural masses should be addressed with priority.
He however did not name CM N Kiran Kumar Reddy, who announced and held the Rachabanda programme in different districts over the last few days.
When asked about differences between Tribal Welfare Minister P Balaraju and the CM, he said that he was making efforts to sort out the differences, if any, between the two.
Earlier, the PCC president, along with other Congress leaders, paid tributes to Indira Gandhi. He said that her services for the nation were exemplary.
He exhorted Congress leaders to follow the ideals of Indira Gandhi in rendering service to the people. (INN)
