Shivraj Singh Chouhan Sees Continued Exodus Of TDP Leaders T
Addressing party workers in Vijayawada, the ex-MP CM said that the BJP's goal was to bring the party to power in Andhra Pradesh in the next Assembly elections.
Former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan today said that the "exodus" of TDP leaders to the BJP would continue in the days to come.
He also expressed hope all the Jana Sena Party leaders would also join the BJP.
Addressing party workers at a meeting in Vijayawada as part of an ongoing party membership drive, Chouhan said that the BJP's goal was to bring the party to power in Andhra Pradesh in the next Assembly elections.
That appears a flight of fancy at least at this stage given that the BJP got wallopped in the recent Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in AP, not winning a single Assembly (of 175) or Lok Sabha (of 25) seat in the State.
However, there is a good chance that the TDP has gotten into terminal decline, with its chief, Chandrababu Naidu, 69 now and not getting any younger. Given that the TDP polled 1.23 crore votes (against the 1.56 crores of the YSR Congress) in the 2019 Assembly elections, its votes translating to the BJP would indeed make for a story.
