Former TDP leader Motkupalli Narasimhulu on Monday joined the BJP in the presence of its national president Amit Shah in New Delhi.
Shah welcomed him into the party in the presence of Telangana BJP president K Laxman and other party leaders including Garikapati Mohan Rao, Vivek Venkatswami and T Veerender Goud.
Narasimhulu was suspended from the TDP in 2018 following his rebellion against the party's national president Nara Chandrababu Naidu. Narasimhulu had expected a gubernatorial posting when the TDP had an alliance with the BJP, but didn't get it, prompting him to rebel and then desert the party.
He had then unsuccessfully contested from the Alair Assembly constituency with the support of the BLF in last year's Assembly elections, and had been lying low after his defeat.
