YSR Congress leader Sharmila on Tuesday underwent surgery at Apollo Hospitals.
According to a medical bulletin issued by the hospital, Sharmila underwent an arthoroscopic (key hole) surgery, during which three injuries - Grade 2 medial collateral tear, interstitial anterior cruciate ligament tear and cartilage injury to patella and lateral condyle of femur - were noted.
"These injuries were appropriately dealt with during the surgical procedure," the bulletin said.
"Injuries of this nature require approximately six weeks to recover, during which she will undergo intense physiotherapy. Other options, like cell therapy, will also be considered depending on her progress," said the medical bulletin. (INN)
