Handlooms & Textiles Minister Dr. P Shankar Rao on Tuesday demanded the suspension of Home Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy from the state Cabinet for her alleged involvement in the attack on his convoy at NTR Colony near L B Nagar.
Talking to media persons at the state Secretariat after the attack on his convoy with eggs and stones at NTR Colony, Shankar Rao alleged that the supporters of Sabitha Indra Reddy and her son Karthik Reddy were behind the attack.
He attributed the attack to "his fight against land encroachments in the state."
Stating that he had informed the police in advance about his program at NTR colony, Shankar Rao alleged that the police failed to arrange for security because of to the pressure mounted on them by the Home Minister.
He asked the CM to remove Home Minister from the Cabinet, and to order a CBI probe against her.
Stating that the Home Minister has illegal properties worth Rs. 5,000 crore in the State, Shankar Rao said that he would submit the list of her properties, with proof, to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and the Congress High Command.
He also said that he would lodge a complaint with the High Command over the attack on his convoy.
"I will also launch a legal battle against her till I get due justice," he said, while asking the CM to respond on the attack immediately.
After attending the media session, Shankar Rao complained about high blood pressure, and was admitted to the Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital, and later shifted to Care Hospital for further check-up. (INN)
