"Our ministers being named in the charge-sheet has been a blow to the Congress party, and it is better if they take responsibility for signing the files," says J C Diwakar Reddy.
The issue of Home Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy is generating a mixed response within the Congress circles, as well as outside.
While Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and a couple of ministers have expressed their solidarity with Sabitha, a few others from Congress want her to quit.
Union minister Sarve Satyanarayana is the latest to join the side critical of her. However, he rendered it in a polite manner, and advised her to quit. "I leave it to her to take the final decision," was his diplomatic statement.
Former minister J C Diwakar Reddy, on the other, stated that it is upto CM to take a decision on whether or not she should continue in the cabinet. "Our ministers being named in the charge-sheet has been a blow to the Congress party, and it is better if they take responsibility for signing the files," he said.
"It is not fair to say that YSR influenced the minister to sign. On one issue, I refused to sign a file," he recalled.
The opposition parties are seeking the resignation of the Home Minister. (INN)
