L B Nagar MLA Devireddy Sudhir Reddy on Tuesday denied allegations that Home Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy and her son Karthik Reddy were behind the attack on the convoy of Handlooms Minister Dr. P Shankar Rao at NTR Colony. NTR Colony falls in Devireddy's constituency.
Talking to media persons at the state Secretariat, Sudhir Reddy condemned the attack on Shankar Rao, and described it as 'unfortunate'.
He said that the Home Minister and Karthik Reddy were in no way connected to the attack as is being alleged by Shankar Rao.
Sudhir Reddy said that Shankar Rao's rivals might have resorted to the attack on his convoy with eggs and stones. He also said that he was ready to face any inquiry in this regard if needed.
He condemned Shankar Rao for seeking a CBI probe against the Home Minister and her dismissal from the Cabinet, in this regard.
Sudhir Reddy asked Shankar Rao to submit proof against the Home Minister, instead of levelling "baseless" allegations against her. (INN)
