The stage is set for Endowments Minister Jupally Krishna Rao and Information and Public Relations Minister D K Aruna to clash yet again.
Jupally refuses to exempt Gadwal from his padayatra to spread awareness about the Telangana region, and D K Aruna is adamant on her refusal to allow Jupally to tour her constituency.
Jupally's Prajabhimanam Yatra had commenced on April 28th, and the minister went on to cover 6 constituencies in the Mahabubnagar district. His yatra was brought to a standstill on May 20th, when he was taken into preventive custody at the outskirts of Gadwal. D K Aruna was also taken into police custody on the same day.
Both ministers were later released on bail.
Pradesh Congress Committee chief D Srinivas had attempted to sort out the issues between the 2 ministers, but in vain.
Having gathered the support of 6 MPs (Keshava Rao, Madhu Yaski Goud, Manda Jagannatham, Gutha Sukhender Reddy, G Vivek and Rajagopal Reddy) and ex-MP D Vittal Rao, Jupally sought the permission of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and Home Minister Sabita Indra Reddy.
While the CM gave his assent, the Home Minister is yet to respond to his request.
D K Aruna, on the other hand, is of the opinion that the issue must be discussed by the members of the District Congress Committee (DCC), and she has stated that she will abide by the verdict of the DCC. Aruna asserted that the DCC was aware that Jupally was conducting his padayatra only for personal gains.
Aruna also charged that Jupally was trying to defame her in the district of Mahabubnagar.
