Telangana Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav today said that an amount of Rs. 50 lakhs was sanctioned to repair the road from Patny crossroads to the City Lights Hotel along the Rashtrapati Road in Secunderabad, after a sinkhole caved in near Patny center.
Along with officials, the Minister inspected the sink holes formed recently in Patny, Secunderabad and sought to know details of the costs of repairs. Officials informed that Rs. 50 lakhs would be necessary to lay the sewage pipeline of 450 mm diameter, replacing the existing 225 mm diameter pipes on the stretch of 500 meters.
The Minister immediately rang up HMWSSB Managing Director D Kishore and spoke to him on the matter. Kishore agreed to release the funds for the purpose and said that the works would be taken up during night hours to avoid traffic problems.
The Minister then asked the officials to coordinate with the Traffic Police for the speedy completion of the works.
