Telangana Animal Husbandry Minister T Srinivas Yadav today said that 54 link roads were being constructed in Hyderabad to avoid traffic jams and inconvenience.
He inspected the works on roads in his Sanath Nagar constituency along with GHMC Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, Principal Secretary of Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Arvind Kumar and GHMC Commissioner Lokesh Kumar.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that as per the instructions of the Minister for MA&UD K T Rama Rao, the GHMC was constructing 54 link roads in the city, and that the works had been taken up on a war footing during the ongoing lockdown period.
He also said that since the Fatehnagar bridge was very narrow, there was a proposal to widen it to a 4-lane road from a 2-lane road. That would help with easy flow of traffic coming from Sanathnagar, Balanagar and the Jeedimetla X roads, he said.
There was also a 100-feet width road from the Balanagar Industrial Area to the Jeedimetla Industrial Area with a railway under-bridge at the railway track in the works, he added.
He said that the works were being undertaken through coordination between HRDCL, GHMC, the town planning department, TSIIC and the railway officials.
During the visit, the delegation has also inspected the graveyard where work is under progress to have washrooms, a compound wall, greenery and two gates for easy flow of vehicles, undertaken with an outlay of Rs 3 crores.
