SDRF Displays Latest Equipment To Handle Disasters
The programme highlighted the capability of the SDRF, to respond to various disasters by deploying rescue teams along with advanced rescue equipment.

As an enforcement of the commitment made by Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, to make the (State Disaster Response & Fire Services) SDRF function on the lines of the NDRF, Director General of SDRF, N Sambasiva Rao has displayed its latest equipment related to flood rescue, Collapsed Structure Search and Rescue (CSSR) and Medical First Responder (MFR), and other advanced fire fighting equipment including Rescue Tender and HAZMAT vehicle.
The programme, held at Fire Services Training Institute (FSTI) in NISA, was attended by the Director General of Police B Prasada Rao, Addl. DGP A R Anurada, Addl. DGP (Law & Order) V S K Kaumudi, SDRFS Director K Jayaram Naik, and other senior officials of the Police department.
The advanced and sophisticated equipment put on display included Search and Rescue Equipment like Circular Saw, Rotary Rescue Saw, Reciprocating Saw, Victim Location System, Gas detectors, Dosimeters and Flood Rescue equipment including Rescue Lifebuoys, Life Jackets, Inflammable Boat and ASKA Lights.
The above equipment was handled and demonstrated by a 30 member rescue team, specially trained in CSSR and MFR and Flood Rescue Operations at Fire Services Training Institute (FSTI) in NISA, Hyderabad.

Reportedly in future, the focus will be on enhancing capacity building of the department, and thereby deploying more number of search & rescue teams. (INN)
