The ex-minister added that a new railway zone in Andhra Pradesh should be set up headquartered at Guntakal, and a sub-capital formed between Kurnool and Anantapur.
Former minister S Sailajanath on Saturday demanded that the Andhra Pradesh Government set up the upcoming AIIMS in the Anantapur district.
Speaking to media persons, Sailajanath said that the Andhra Pradesh government should not repeat the mistake of concentrating the development only in one place, as was done in Hyderabad, and should ensure the development of all regions.
National institutions should be set up across the Seemandhra region, he said.
He said that while AIIMS should be set up Anantapur, the High Court could be established in Rayalaseema as per the Sribagh Pact. Likewise, he said that a new railway zone should be set up with Guntakal as its headquarters.
Sailajanath said that the sub-capital for Andhra Pradesh should be formed between Kurnool and Anantapur. (INN)
