State minister and Seemandhra Legislators Forum convener S Sailajanath demanded that the Telugu Desam Party withdraw its letter given to the Centre supporting the formation of Telangana.
Talking to reporters at the Congress Legislature Party office here on Saturday, Sailajanath said that the TDP's commitment towards Samaikyandhra would remain questionable until it withdraws the letter.
He said that TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu could not take out his "Telugu Jaathi Athma Gourava Yatra" until he announces his support for Samaikyandhra.
Sailajanath said that the TDP was formed on the slogan of Telugu pride, but that the party is now working against the interest of Telugus.
"The TDP is engulfed in family disputes, and there is no coordination between the cadre and their party chief," he said.
He also announced that Seemandhra legislators would organise a dharna in the Assembly premises on September 3, and would also participate in the APNGOs meeting on September 7 in Hyderabad.
Congress senior MLA Gade Venkat Reddy and government whip in the Legislative Council Rudraraju Padma Raju were also present. (INN)
