The State government today launched two more welfare schemes, Rs 500 an LPG cylinder and free power upto 200 units to families with white ration cards, promised by the Congress as part of its election promises.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy along with Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, ministers, Congress MLAs and officials launched the schemes at the Secretariat.
Speaking on the occasion, the CM said that the purpose of launching the two schemes was to see happiness in the eyes of the women of the State and lights in the homes of the poor.
"Congress leader Sonia Gandhi unveiled six guarantees in the name of Abhaya Hastam as part of Congress' election promises on September 17, 2023. Trusting the word of Sonia Gandhi, people gave a clear mandate in favour of the Congress in the recent Assembly elections. Now, it is our government's responsibility to fulfill all the promises given to the people," Reddy said.
The CM alleged that the previous BRS government led by K Chandrashekar Rao did not reduce the prices of cylinders, and moreover, tried to generate more revenue through GST when the price of cylinders was increased.
"Our government's aim is to see happiness in the women's eyes. Even though there is an economic crisis, we are systematically approaching the continuation of welfare schemes while maintaining financial displine. We are committed to implementing all the promises given to the people," Reddy claimed.
He added that despite BRS leaders spreading false propaganda against the implementation of six guarantees, the State government was sincerely working to implement all the six guarantees made by the Congress, and was marching ahead in the direction of development.
