Rs 1,404-crore Of Electricity Construction Works In Old City
Works worth Rs 1,330.94 crore have already been completed, and works worth another Rs 73.64 crore are in progress, Power Minister Jagadish Reddy said.

Telangana Power Minister Guntakandla Jagadish Reddy today said that the State government had taken up electricity construction works at a cost of Rs 1,404.58 crore in the old city of Hyderabad district through TS TRANSCO and TSSPDCL.
He also said that works worth Rs 1,330.94 crore had already been completed, and that works worth another Rs 73.64 crore were in progress.
Replying to a question raised by MLCs Mirza Riyazal Hassan and Mirza Rahmat Baig of the AIMIM in the Council, Reddy informed the House that of the Rs 1,404.58 crore, Rs 957.29 crore were spent through the TS-TRANSCO for transmission, and Rs 447.29 crore were spent by TSSPDCL.
He said that 220 KV sub-stations, 132 KV sub-stations, 33/11 KV sub-stations, 15,256 km of 33 KV lines and 63 additional transformers had been installed so far in the Old City.
He said that a review meeting had been held with the legislators of the Old City, and the construction works were taken up on their request.
In the case of the constructions of the sub-stations, the settlements were done with the involvement of the local legislators even though there were hurdles in the land-related issues, he added.
He also said that there were no power cuts in the State, and lauded the managements of the Telangana power utilities for ensuring that power supply was not disrupted even during the recent natural calamity in the State. He added that the government would soon find a solution for the low voltage problems, and that those who took LCs would be held responsible for any kind of low voltage problems.
