Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today left for the Munugodu Assembly constituency in a massive rally to launch the TRS campaign for the upcoming by-election, and was greeted by huge crowds en route.
The CM left from his official residence Pragathi Bhavan in a bus accompanied by some ministers and leaders of the TRS.
His convoy of vehicles was en route joined by a large number of cars.
More TRS ministers, MPs and MLAs also left in rallies from various destinations for Choutuppal, where KCR was to address a public meeting later in the day.
Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav left Hyderabad for Choutuppal along with 400 vehicles, and former minister and MLA Danam Nagender led a rally of 300 cars starting from Necklace Road.
All the rallies led to a huge traffic jam from Uppal to L B Nagar.
KCR was accorded a grand welcome en route at Uppal. Thousands of party workers gathered along the Uppal-Nagole stretch to greet the Chief Minister. When the convoy reached Nagole, the huge gathering led to a mild traffic jam as party workers and local people rushed towards the vehicle in which the CM was travelling. The security personnel cleared the people and made way for the convoy.
