Former MP and newly-minted BJP leader Boora Narsaiah Goud today alleged that CM K Chandrashekar Rao was blackmailing his own party MLAs, and asking them to spend Rs 2 crore for each booth in the Munugodu Assembly constituency.
Speaking to media persons at the State BJP headquarters, Goud also claimed that while the BJP had turned into a party of separate Telangana activists, the TRS had turned into a party of Telangana traitors.
He also alleged that the State was witnessing more detentions of rival political party leaders than neighbouring Andhra Pradesh.
Slamming KCR for being more opportunistic than principle-bound, Goud claimed that KCR had upgraded Gattuppal of the Munugodu constituency to a mandal only because of the by-election.
As another example of the same, he also alleged that KCR had harassed the land oustees of Munugodu for the last six years, and that the CM was talking about them now only thanks to the by-election on the horizon.
He also pointed out to the comments of the TRS leaders that there was no fluorosis problem in Nalgonda district, and asked the pink party leaders why they were then urging the State government to set up fluorosis research centre in the district.
Goud asked the people of the State to realise the true objective behind his decision to leave the TRS. He said that leaders like Eatala Rajender, A P Jithender Reddy, Konda Vishveswar Reddy and he had come out of the TRS for their self-respect. He also claimed that several TRS MLAs would join the BJP after the by-election.
He said the saffron party would win in the by-election notwithstanding the misuse of power by the CM. He also predicted that the BJP would come into power in the State after the next Assembly elections, and warned that the officials and police officers who were supporting the CM would go to jail.
