The AP Chief Minister K Rosaiah was in New Delhi on Monday, to call on the Congress high command, His agenda was to discuss relief measures for the recent cyclone that devastated parts of the state, as well as to seek a go-ahead for some pending projects for AP. For the damage caused by cyclone Laila The chief minister sought help of Rs. 6,000 crores under the National Calamity Contingency Fund from the Centre.
The CM discussed nominations for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections to be held in Andhra Pradesh as well. There was a meeting of the AICC core committee held in Delhi for the purpose, to which Rosaiah also was invited. 4 vacancies are being created, and some of the aspirants for a party ticket are V Hanumantha Rai, J D Seelam and TTD chairman D K Adikesavulu Naidu.
Rosaiah also met Union Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas Murli Deora to discuss the proposed gas-based power project in Nendunuru in Karimnahar. The first phase of the project, costing approximately Rs. 2,500 crore, is said to have gained a nod from the minister.
