Secunderabad cantonment MLA P Shankara Rao, on Tuesday, advised Chief Minister K Rosaiah to drop government advisor and Rajya Sabha member KVP Ramachandra Rao, as he was damaging the image of the party and the government for vested interests.
Talking to media persons on assembly premises, Shankara Rao alleged that since KVP had assumed charge as the government advisor during the tenure of former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy, the State has suffered huge financial losses and had witnessed many scams.
The cantonment MLA demanded that the government order a probe into his properties illegally obtained through 'Benami' names immediately.
Shankara Rao asked the Chief Minister to follow the directions of high command and not follow KVP, as his suggestions did not serve any purpose.
Shankara Rao wondered why a Chief Minister needed an advisor as the President Pratibha Patil, Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had no advisors for them.
The MLA also accused the Chief Minister of being remote-controlled by KVP.
"If the Congress party follows the advices of KVP, it would definitely bite the dust in the assembly elections scheduled to be held in 2014," Shankara Rao predicted.
Rao urged the Chief Minister to revamp the cabinet immediately and streamline the administration as some ministers were not working efficiently.
