Former Chief Minister of erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh and veteran Congress leader Konijeti Rosaiah died today.

The family members then took the body to his residence at Ameerpet.
Congress leader K V P Ramchandra Rao said that the final rites would be conducted at the Mahaprasthanam at Jubilee Hills on December 5, Sunday, at around 1 pm.
Some AICC top leaders currently in Delhi were likely turn up for the last rites, he said.
He also said that the body would be kept at Gandhi Bhavan, the Telangana Congress head office, to enable people to pay their last tributes to him.
The Telangana government decided to conduct the final rites of the departed politician with state honours. The government also declared three days of mourning.
Rosaiah, known for presenting the state's annual budget 15 times in a row, had held several key ministerial posts in AP including finance, home and transport. He was a member of the AP Legislative Council from 1968 to 1985, and first became minister in 1979. He was also elected to the Lok Sabha in 1998.
Towards the end of his political career, in the aftermath of Y S Rajasekhar Reddy's death, he became the 15th Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh, in September 2009. He had to quit the post a little over a year later, in November 2010, to pave the way for Kiran Kumar Reddy to take over as the agitation for statehood for the Telangana region picked up steam. He then became the 18th Governor of Tamil Nadu, holding the post from August 2011 to August 2016. He also held additional charge as the Governor of Karnataka for two months in 2014.
Rosaiah was known for his smooth talk, and for being a non-controversial leader who had left an indelible mark in the state's politics. He is known to have few enemies.
Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu, Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Mohan Reddy, Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao, Telangana Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan and Tamil Nadu CM M K Stalin expressed grief at the passing of Rosaiah. They recalled his long service in politics.
Telangana ministers Harish Rao, K T Rama Rao, Indrakaran Reddy, Sabitha Reddy, Satyavathi Rathod and others too condoled the death of the former Chief Minister.
Several other political luminaries including former AP CM and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu, TDP General Secretary Nara Lokesh, former PCC Chief D Srinivas, Congress leader Bhatti Vikramarka, CPI leader K Narayana, BJP leader D K Aruna, Telugu film actor and Congress leader Chiranjeevi, TPCC president Revanth Reddy and others too expressed their sympathies to the bereaved family members.
Rosaiah was born in Vemuru village of Guntur district on July 4 in 1933. He had studied in Hindu College, and was a student of noted freedom fighter and agricultural leader N G Ranga.
