Roja Roars Against Chandrababu Naidu On Drought In AP
The YSR Congress MLA said that AP suffered a Rs 4,000-crore loss due to the drought, but the CM could not bring even Rs 400 crores from the Centre for relief.
Launching a scathing attack against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, YSR Congress Party legislator R K Roja alleged that the TDP government was least bothered about the prevailing drought situation in the State.
Participating in the Jala Deeksha of YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy against Telangana's irrigation projects, Roja said that the State suffered a huge loss of Rs 4,000 crores due to the acute drought conditions, but the Chief Minister could not bring even Rs 400 crores from the Centre for drought-relief work.
She also alleged that even the meagre drought-relief funds available were being misused by the State government. In the name of distribution of butter milk, the government had released Rs 39 crores, she said, but only Heritage buttermilk was being sold from the outlets (Heritage Foods is owned by Naidu's family).
Roja said that while the Chief Ministers of drought-affected States were meeting the Prime Minister and seeking adequate financial assistance for drought-relief works, Chandrababu Naidu was investing money in Switzerland on benami names.
Claiming that if 115 TMC of water were diverted from the Palamuru-Rangareddy and Dindi lift irrigation projects, the Rayalaseema region would not get a drop of water, Roja appealed to the people to support the Jala Deeksha by Jagan.
The YSRCP legislator also alleged that Naidu had given up on the Special Status issue to avoid getting arrested in the Revanth Reddy "note-for-vote" scam.
