Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has directed the officials to create digital health profiles for everyone in Telangana, and asked them to take the necessary steps in this regard.
The Chief Minister also suggested that the proposed digital health profile be linked with a unique number which facilated proper treatment to the people in case of emergencies.
Reddy was addressing a high-level review meeting with the medical and health department at the Secretariat today.
In the meeting, he also asked the officials to look into the issue of relaxing the rule making a white ration card mandatory for Arogyasri. Due to this requirement, the number of people taking white ration cards was increasing, Reddy said.
The officials were also directed to take steps to have nursing, physiotherapy and paramedical colleges wherever there was a medical college, and to create a common policy for this.
The Chief Minister also said that complete medical services should be made available in the Bibinagar AIIMS, so that the people of Khammam, Warangal and Nalgonda districts would benefit when the AIIMS became fully available. This would reduce the burden on Osmania General Hospital and NIMS, he said.
The officials were also suggested to look into the setting up a medical college and a nursing college in Kodangal.
Health Minister Damodara Raja Narsimha, Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari, Principal Secretary to the CM Seshadri, Joint Secretary to the CM Sangeeta Satyanarayana and senior officials from the medical and health department were present.
