TPCC chief and Malkajgiri MP A Revanth Reddy today launched the Congress' Dalita Girijana Dandora program at the historic village of Indravelli in Adilabad district.
Speaking on the occasion, he alleged that the SCs and the STs of the state were being "oppressed" under the rule of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, and explained that the main objective of his party was to "ensure a bright future" for the SC and ST communities in the state.
"The main objective behind our program is to expose the failure of the TRS regime to fulfil its electoral promises to the SCs and STs in the state, and to highlight the "injustice" that has been meted out to the two communities in the last seven years of TRS rule," he added.
Claiming that the CM always introduced support schemes to win in various elections, Reddy asked KCR why he was not implementing the new Dalit bandhu scheme across the state if such allegations were indeed untrue.
The MP also flayed KCR for having "turned a profit-generating region into a state with debts of Rs 4 lakh crore".
Veteran party leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka also spoke on the occasion.
The Congress has been relentless in attacking the government's newly launched Dalit Bandhu scheme. Just some days ago, veteran party leader and former minister Dr J Geeta Reddy had pilloried the CM, alleging that the latter was
"trying to cheat" the Dalits of the state in the name of the implementation of the new support scheme.
