Congress leader and MLA Seethakka today claimed that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had come up with the Dalit Bandhu scheme only to "make political gains".
She made these remarks while addressing the media at the Raviryala public meeting ground.
Seethakka had gone to the area to supervise the arrangements being made at the ground for the Congress' upcoming Dalit Girijana Dandora meeting. She was accompanied by TPCC working president Mahesh Kumar Goud, former MLA Malreddy Ranga Reddy, and former MP Rajaiah.
Speaking after the inspection, the leader alleged that the CM was "eying the votes" of the Dalits and the tribals of the state and was implementing the Dalit Bandhu scheme to pocket ST votes and demanded that KCR implement the scheme at the same time across the entire state instead of launching it only in the poll-bound Huzurabad constituency. She also demanded that he implement a BC Bandhu and and a Girijana Bandhu scheme as well.
Further, the MLA claimed that the Dalit Bandhu program would not succeed till a ban was imposed on the sale of liquor in the state.
TPCC working head Mahesh Kumar Goud also make similar remarks, and accused the CM of nothing fulfilled any of the promises the latter had made to the SCs and STs of the state.
