Lok Satta party founder President Dr Jayaprakash Narayan today asked pointed questions of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu on the "Note-For-Vote" scam.
Referring to the tape released on the issue, JP asked Naidu whether he would quit as Chief Minister if it was proved that the voice in the tape was not doctored and was indeed his own.
JP also wanted Naidu to say whether TDP MLA Revanth Reddy had tried to buy votes in the MLC election or not; whether it was done with the knowledge of Naidu or not; and whether an MLA would give such a huge amount for buying one vote without Naidu's approval and instigation.
JP further asked why Naidu had failed to take action against Revanth Reddy if the latter had tried to buy an MLA without his (Naidu's) knowledge, when the party's interests were at stake.
JP referred to the talk of the Rs. 5 crore bribe and said that it was Naidu who had brought in the culture of huge amounts changing hands into politics, and that his successor YSR had nurtured it.
The Lok Satta leader decried Naidu for instigating the people of the state on the issue, and demanded a CBI probe under the supervision of the Lokpal into the scam.
JP also found fault with the TRS chief KCR, and asked how the number of TRS MLAs rose from 63 to 77. (NSS)
