Revanth Reddy Asks BJP To Get GO 317 Scrapped By President
The TPCC chief said it was ridiculous for Bandi Sanjay to promise to scrap the GO in 2023, when the BJP at the Centre could resolve the issue right now.

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President & MP A Revanth Reddy demanded that the BJP government at the Centre initiate measures to scrap the GO 317 as it violated the provision of the Presidential Order.
Reddy, who just recovered from the Covid-19 for the second time, was addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan on Monday.
Senior leaders including Mohammed Ali Shabbir, Anjan Kumar Yadav, Ponnam Prabhakar, Mahesh Kumar Goud, Dr Mallu Ravi, Maheshwar Reddy and others were also present.
The TPCC chief said that the GO, meant for allocation and transfer of government employees and teachers, was issued as per a Presidential Order introduced during the previous Congress regime to do justice to the people of Telangana.
After the formation of Telangana state, the first four zones went to Andhra Pradesh while Zone 5 and Zone 6 remained with Telangana. The state government re-organised those zones in accordance with the new districts. However, utter injustice was done to the employees and teachers in GO 317, and locals were not given preference as mandated in the Presidential Order, Reddy alleged.
The TPCC chief said that the union government could get the GO scrapped by referring it to the President of India. He said that the four BJP MPs from Telangana, including union minister G Kishan Reddy and Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay, could make a representation to the President seeking scrapping of the GO 317.
However, instead of finding an immediate solution to the problem, which had claimed the lives of several employees and teachers already, the BJP was politicising the issue, Reddy claimed, with several actors from other states too imported to play a role in its drama on the GO. He said that it was ridiculous for Bandi Sanjay to promise that the BJP would scrap the GO if it came to power in the 2023 elections, when the BJP government at the Centre could resolve the issue with the stroke of a pen.
