Telangana Congress head Revanth Reddy today wrote an open letter to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao demanding that the latter pay the salaries of the home guards and model school staff.
In his letter, Reddy lamented that the Chief Minister had taken the State, which was formed with a surplus budget of Rs. 16,000 crore eight years back, to a position where it was unable to pay the salaries of its employees now.
He lamented that the government was now needing to impose burdens on the citizens in the form of different types of taxes, besides selling government lands and taking loans to the tune of lakhs of crores of rupees, just to stay afloat each month.
To add insult to injury, the CM was visiting other States to pay compensations to the people of those States, he said derisively.
He also slammed the CM for giving advertisements in the media of the entire country by spending reportedly Rs. 200 crore
He asked the Chief Minister whether he thought about the problems being faced by the home guards in the State when he was indulging himself thus, and if he wondered how the families of the guards would live without salaries.
