State BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Monday demanded that the State government immediately constitute a new Pay Revision Commission (PRC) and implement revised pay scales for government employees and teachers with effect from July of this year.
In a letter to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, Bandi said that he had come to know that the State cabinet would be meeting on March 9 to discuss various issues and take crucial decisions.
"The biggest issue that needs to be discussed immediately is implementation of a Pay Revision Commission to decide the pay revision of State government employees and teachers, who played a major role in the movement for a separate Telangana State by stalling the administration for nearly 42 days. The Chief Minister has the moral responsibility to protect the legitimate rights of the employees in their own State," he said.
He pointed out that the validity of the first PRC headed by retired IAS officer C R Biswal would expire on June 30 of this year, and that the new PRC would have to come into implementation from July 1.
"The first PRC report, which was supposed to be implemented with effect from July 1, 2018, had been delayed for nearly 21 months. Even the arrears have not been paid in several cases. And the KCR government has not even appointed a new PRC till now though a revision is dues in four months. This is nothing but cheating the lakhs of employees and teachers. How can revised pay scales be implemented without any committee report?" he asked.
He demanded that the government appoint a new PRC immediately and get a report within three months, so that new pay scales could be implemented from July 1.
Bandi also claimed that the State government was not paying salaries to its employees and teachers on the first day of every month, and that it had not released four Dearness Allowance installments till now. "On top of that, the CM has ruined many employees' lives by transferring them indiscriminately in the name of implementation of GO 317," he lamented.
Apart from pay revision, Bandi said that the cabinet should also discuss the implementation of all pre-poll promises made by KCR.
