Telangana Congress president Revanth Reddy today took strong exception to the comments of Andhra Pradesh minister Perni Nani proposing the merger of AP with Telangana.
He said that statehood for the Telangana region was obtained at the cost of the sacrifices of hundreds of martyrs of the state, and asked the AP leaders not to interfere in the issues of Telangana.
He also alleged that Nani had proposed the merger of his state with Telangana as part of a conspiracy of AP CM Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
He alleged that the plan had been hatched to fulfill the aspiration of KCR to expand his rule.
He said that the appearance of the statue of Telugu Talli at the recent plenary of the TRS was also part of the same conspiracy.
He made these comments on his Twitter account.
Nani soon responded to the comments of Revanth Reddy in kind.
He said that leaders like Reddy who he claimed always craved for sensationalism would post just these kinds of tweets.
He said that several new political parties were coming up in Telangana due to a political vacuum, and added that an IPS officer of Telangana had also recently resigned from his job and joined a political party.
He said that there was no such political vacuum in AP, and claimed that the implementation of various welfare programs was the main reason behind the lack of such a political vacuum in the state.
