Revanth Reddy Arrested In Drone Case
The Malkajgiri MP was arrested over allegations of using a drone illegally to shoot (with cameras) the farmhouse purportedly owned by minister K T Rama Rao.
Malkajgiri MP and Congress leader A Revanth Reddy was arrested by an SOT (Special Operations Team) of the police at the Shamshabad airport today.
He was taken into custody when he landed at the airport from Delhi.
He was then produced before the Upparapally Magistrate, who remanded him to 14-day judicial custody.
The police took him to the Charlapally Central Jail amidst tight security.
The MP was arrested over allegations of using a drone illegally to shoot (with cameras) the farmhouse purportedly owned by IT Minister K T Rama Rao at Janwada village under the Narsingi police station limits.
The Narsingi police had earlier registered cases under Sections 184 and 187 of the IPC and Section 22 read with 5 (A) of the Aircraft Act against Revanth Reddy and eight others. When Reddy asked the police how his name was included in Cr No 224/2020 u/s 188, 287, 109 and 120 (b) of the IPC, and under Sec 11 (A) r/w 5 (A) of the Aircraft Act, he was told about the available evidence. When the MP refused to co-operate with the police - all this happened at about 5 pm - he was arrested and produced before the court.
