The TDP MLA for Kodangal was taken into custody when there was mild tension during a foundation stone-laying function for a market yard godown at the town.
Kodangal TDP MLA Revanth Reddy was arrested in the Medak district during a function featuring Telangana Industries Minister Jupally Krishna Rao. However, he was released later from the Doultabad police station.
Reddy, the principal accused in the infamous note-for-vote case, was taken into custody when there was mild tension during a foundation stone-laying function for a market yard godown at Kodangal. Reddy appeared at the venue and commotion quickly erupted, compelling the police to use force to disperse sloganeering TDP activists, who also pelted stones at the police personnel. The police arrested the TDP leaders, including Revanth Reddy, and whisked them away to the Doulatabad police station.
TDP workers staged a sit-in in front of the police station demanding the release of Reddy.
Speaking to the media later, Reddy vowed to dislodge Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, and not to sleep till then. He also alleged that a conspiracy was being hatched to destroy the TDP in Telangana.
Telangana TDP leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao condemned the arrest of Revanth Reddy.
