Sub-Inspector Caught In ACB Net In Bodhan
Chitannoju Bhaskara Chari, SI of the Bodhan Town police station, demanded Rs 7,000 from a complainant to keep his nephew out of a criminal case.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today caught Chitannoju Bhaskara Chari, Sub-Inspector of the Bodhan Town police station, Nizamabad district, red-handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 7,000 from a complainant.
According to the ACB officials, the accused officer demanded the bribe in return for doing an official favour - to avoid implicating the complainant's nephew in a criminal case.
Initially Chari demanded Rs 10,000, which he later reduced to Rs 7,000 at the complainant's request.
The tainted amount of Rs 7,000 was recovered from the possession of Chari at his instance. The identity of the complainant has been withheld for security reasons.
Chari was arrested and will be produced before the II Additional Special Judge for Trial of SPE & ACB Cases at Nampally, Hyderabad. The case is currently under investigation.
