Newly-joined Congress leader A Revanth Reddy today alleged that the TRS government had spent only Rs 20,000 crores against an allocation of Rs 50,000 crores for the Mission Bhagiratha project.
In an informal talk with media persons at Gandhi Bhavan, Reddy ridiculed Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, saying that he was giving water to Gajwel and Siddipet towns under Mission Bhagiratha by diverting water from the Godavari pipeline to Hyderabad, completed during the erstwhile Congress regime.
In a string of further allegations, he accused the CM of protecting TRS leaders Soyam Baburao and Kazipet Lingaiah, against whom the previous Congress government had filed cases, and alleged that M Mahender Reddy had been appointed DGP as a "gift" for protecting the culprits in the passport case in which the CM, too, had been named.
He also insinuated a link between the transfer of erstwhile GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar and a two-acre plot of land in S No 83/1 in Gachibowli that actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi had got registered for himself, and said that irrigation minister T Harish Rao had taken the same land on lease and started construction work along with an Andhra-based contractor. It was for Somesh Kumar's refusal to grant a building permit for that land that he had been transferred, Reddy said.
Commenting on the recent violence in the state over tribal reservations, Reddy also accused the CM of creating differences between the Adivasi and Lambada tribal groups.
