TPCC chief A Revanth Reddy's ongoing war of words with Telangana Labour Minister Ch Malla Reddy seems far from over yet.
After the minister
challenged the Congress leader to contest from the Malkajgiri constituency against him, the latter today came down heavily on him and voiced his objections against Malla Reddy's use of "abusive and foul language". He claimed that he had "proof" of all the "land irregularities" committed by the the TRS leader.
Speaking to the media at the Gandhi Bhavan, the MP said, "It is mandatory to execute a sale deed to purchase any kind of land. I wonder, then, how the brother-in-law of minister Malla Reddy, Srinivas Reddy, became the owner of 16 acres of land located on the outskirts of Hyderabad without any such deed. Further, it is clear that the minister wrangled permission for the establishment of Malla Reddy University by showing a gift deed."
Referring to a plot of 22.33 acres located in plot number 650 of Gundla Pochampally village, he alleged that the size of the property had suddenly had gone up to 33.26 guntas according to the details available on the state's land registration portal, Dharani, and added, "How has the plot size increased so suddenly? It is ironic that IT and Industries Minister K T Rama Rao goes around teaching others morals and is himself responsible for sheltering corrupt politicians who have turned into land sharks. After all, nothing was done to the Labour Minister even after the state's vigilance department submitted a report stating that the Malla Reddy University management had misused hundreds of crores of rupees of the fee reimbursement scheme. I demand that the state government make the department's report public."
Revanth Reddy then pointed out that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had stated that he would not tolerate any kind of corruption by his Cabinet colleagues and asked the latter why he was not taking any action against Malla Reddy even when the minister had allegedly threatened a person in a real estate related conflict pertaining to the ownership of 50 acres of land.
