Telangana Labour Minister Ch Malla Reddy, who has been embroiled in a
war of words with TPCC chief and MP A Revanth Reddy, today alleged that the latter had been trying to "blackmail" him since his stint as a TDP MP in 2014.
Denying the allegations of corruption and land grabbing that Revanth Reddy had made against him at a press conference, he asserted, "There is no truth in any of the charges levelled against me by Revanth Reddy as I got all the required permissions for land purchase and registered all my properties as per existing norms."
The minister then hit out at the TPCC chief for furnishing "false documents" in a bid to "malign" him.
"It is shameful that the Congress chief is trying to defame me. He had tried to do this before as well - when I became the Malkajgiri MP in 2014, he was angered by the fact that the TDP high command had denied him an MP ticket and had given it to me. He had tried to target me then as well. I had brought up the matter with TDP head Chandrababu Naidu but Revanth Reddy continued to target me," he thundered.
"Even now, after becoming Malkajgiri MP, Revanth Reddy has not stopped making false charges against me. But he should know that I am not afraid of his comments as my institutions and hospital, and other assets are registered fully legally. There is no violation on my part as my lands, buildings and colleges are registered in accordance with every existing guideline. I began a medical college in 2012 and a women's college too. There are about 7,000 students staying in our hostels which are equipped with modern facilities. Just by showing some false documents, the TPCC head is trying to stir up a controversy. Even the Centre had clarified that there have been no irregularities when Revanth Reddy had raised this same issue in Parliament. So, I wonder why he continues to spread misinformation," the minister claimed.
An irate Malla Reddy then added, "The Congress leader will face public ire and the ire of the TRS as well if he fails to stop making false charges against the government and its ministers."
