Congress MLC M S Prabhakar Rao today demanded that the Telangana government immediately remove Legislature Secretary Raja Sadaram from his post as he had misused funds and had misguided Assembly Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary and Council Chairman Swamy Goud during the Commonwealth program in Australia.
Talking to mediapersons on Thursday, Prabhakar alleged that Sadaram had misused public money to the tune of Rs 10 lakhs on his Australia trip though there was no need for him to attend the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association meetings there.
Prabhakar alleged that Sadaram actually wanted to meet his sons staying in Australia, and had accompanied the presiding officers of the Assembly and the Council to the meeting in violation of norms.
The Congress leader also sought to know in what capacity the Legislature Secretary could attend such a meeting of international repute.
Though there was no official invitation, Sadaram had written a letter of intention to participate in the meeting, misusing his position, he alleged.
Prabhakar demanded that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao deny Sadaram an extension, and even remove him right away.
There was a need for an efficient and honest official as the Legislature Secretary, Prabhakar said. If KCR wanted, he could appoint Raja Sadaram as an Officer on Special Duty, Prabhakar suggested.
