Talasani Acting Like De Facto CM: Congress
Congress MLC M S Prabhakar alleged the Commercial Taxes Minister was conducting review meetings with officials of departments not part of his ministry.
Congress MLC M S Prabhakar alleged that Commercial Taxes Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav was acting like de facto Chief Minister of Telangana.
Speaking to media persons in the Assembly premises, Prabhakar alleged that Talasani had been conducting review meetings with the officials of various departments which were not part of his ministry.
Prabhakar said that Talasani had been calling officials to his official residence or chambers in the Secretariat to hold review meetings.
Despite being the Home Minister, Nayani Narasimha Reddy had never called any senior police official to his residence. But Talasani summoned the City Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy to his residence reportedly for a review meeting. Similarly, GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar and other senior officials were being summoned regularly for meetings with the minister.
Prabhakar asked whether Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao delegated such powers to Talasani. If not, then the Chief Minister should take immediate action against Talasani for violating the constitutional norms, he said.
He stated that Talasani had been serving as a minister without even his resignation as the TDP MLA being accepted, and therefore it was wrong to expect any moral behaviour from him.
Prabhakar said that the Chief Minister should at least issue a clarification in this regard. (INN)
