Removal Of Voters: High Court Asks EC To Clarify

The Hyderabad High Court directed the Election Commission to clarify on the removal of voters under the GHMC limits from the rolls, by December 10.
Hyderabad | 3rd December 2015
The Hyderabad High Court today directed the Election Commission to give a clarification on the removal of voters under the GHMC limits by December 10.

Admitting a petition complaining that some 6.30 lakh voters were removed from the rolls without prior intimation, the court asked the EC to submit details.

The EC explained to the court about the inspections they conducted to find out whether the voters were staying at the residences or had shifted to other places.

The EC also informed the court that it had yet to get a report from the State Election Commission.

With this, the High Court adjourned the case to December 15.
