Register Cases Against CM: TDP
TDP's Yerrannaidu asks why the police department had not registered cases against the CM and other activists for violating rules and staging the dharna on Friday.
Telugu Desam Party politburo member and senior leader K Yerrannaidu on Saturday demanded that a case should be registered against chief minister K Rosaiah and all those who participated in the dharna against former RSS chief K Sudarshan at Basheerbagh Crossroads on Friday, for violating the law.
Talking to media persons at the NTR Trust Bhavan after a politburo meeting, Yerrannaidu stated, "Never in the history of the state has any chief minister participated in a dharna, but Rosaiah has not only shrugged aside protocol, but also violated the existing rules and regulation by participating in the dharna at a place where Section 144 was in force."
The senior TDP leader added that Rosaiah had taken part in the dharna to get into the good books of AICC president Sonia Gandhi and to make his post safe.
Yerrannaidu further questioned as to why the police department had not registered cases against the CM and other activists for violating rules.
The senior TDP leader also revealed that the politburo meeting had discussed the deaths of about 100 persons who had committed suicides allegedly due to oppressive tactics of microfinance institutions while recovering loans.
Yerrannaidu stated that the Congress government should be held responsible for the deaths since both the central and state governments have failed to stop the MFIs.
He accused the state government of failing to clear the outstanding Rs. 352 crore for the Pavala Vaddi scheme introduced by YSR. He said that the neglect to release funds for the scheme had forced the members of self help groups to take loans from the MFIs.
Yerrannaidu added that the government should take stringent action against MFIs, and also called upon the people to not repay the loans they had taken, apart from the principal amount.
