Telangana Jagruthi president K Kavitha today accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of spending Rs 10 crore from the Singareni Collieries funds on a football match, calling it "one hour of entertainment at the cost of workers' money."
Addressing the media, Kavitha asked what benefit Telangana had gained from the Chief Minister's football match with Lionel Messi. Alleging misuse of workers' funds and calling the expenditure unjustified, she demanded that the Congress return the Rs 10 crore to Singareni.
Referring to Rahul Gandhi's visit to Hyderabad to watch the match, Kavitha said that the Congress leader should have instead visited the historic Chikkadpally library.
On the occasion, Kavitha also criticised the recent reorganisation of municipal divisions in Hyderabad, and called it unscientific. She also alleged that the city continued to suffer from poor public transport, drainage and drinking water facilities, and said that Telangana Jagruthi would continue its fight for their resolution.
