The state government on Monday passed orders for the acquisition of 117.52 acres of land for the construction of the stage IV of the Rayalaseema Thermal Power Project in Kallamalla Village, Yerraguntla Mandal, YSR district (formerly Kadapa).
According to the orders issued, 56.32 acres of land in Survey No. 224, and 61.20 acres of land in Survey No. 174/1 of Patta land will be acquired under the Land Acquisition ACT, 1894, for the construction of the 4th stage of the Thermal Power Project.
Earlier, the Stage III for the RTTP was synchronised on December 4, 2010, to attain the full load of 210 MW capacity after streamlining the unit operations by the Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation (APGenco).
The unit added 210 Mw (5.04 mu per day) to the grid.
The raw water required for the project was supplied from the Mylavaram reservoir through pipelines covering 22 km, and from the Brahmasagar Reservoir though pipelines covering 72 km. The required coal — 1.01 million tonne per annum — was supplied by Orissa-based Mahanandi Coal Fields Limited (Talcher). The total estimated cost of the project is Rs. 1,330.75 crore.
The 600 MW stage-IV of the power plant is likely to be commissioned by 2013.
