The State government has started the official process to promote Kongareddypalli village as a model for 100% solar-powered habitation in Telangana.
On the instructions of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, a team of officials started a house-to-house survey in the village today.
Chairman & Managing Director of Southern Telangana Power Distribution Company Musharraf Farooqui, Nagar Kurnool District Collector B Santhosh, REDCO VC & MD Anila Vavilla, TGSPDCL Director (Commercial, IPC & RAC) K Ramulu and other department heads toured the village.
The team interacted with the locals, mainly farmers and public representatives. The team briefed the locals about the pilot project to promote the village as a fully solar-powered panchayat.
At present, a total of 1,451 electricity consumers (499 domestic, 66 commercial and 867 agricultural) are registered in the village.
As part of the implementation of the pilot project, the State government launched the house-to-house survey. Based on the survey report, the government will prepare a DPR (Detailed Project Report) and finalise the installed solar power capacity in the village.
