Representatives from Ecoren Energy India Private Limited and GPRS Arya Private Limited today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with TG REDCO at the Telangana Institute of Rural Development in Rajendranagar, Hyderabad, in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka.
"With the launch of the New Energy Policy, Sun Petro Company has entered into an MoU to invest Rs 20,000 crore for the generation of 3,400 MW of pumped storage power in Telangana. Another major corporation is set to invest Rs 7,500 crore to produce 1,500 MW of pumped storage power. Both companies are currently preparing Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), and their new projects are expected to commence shortly in the state," he said.
He also expressed his satisfaction regarding Ecoren Energy's MoU with the government to produce 5,600 MW of green energy through an investment of Rs 27,000 crore.
Vikramarka said that the influx of investments into Telangana's green energy sector presented a significant opportunity to swiftly meet the electricity needs of the State's residents.
Both national and international firms were increasingly investing in the State due to the new energy policy introduced by the Congress government, he added.
